DLP (Data Loss/Leak Prevention) is a strategy for protecting against the loss or leakage of information. The DLP system monitors channels of information transmission (websites, file exchange services, USB drives, email) and analyzes content. OctoWatch implements a Rules system where you can configure actions that the system will take when certain conditions are met. Actions may include blocking the computer, notifying management, blocking a website or application, shutting down the computer, restricting access to a file, blocking the sending of an email, and more.
We also have a self-learning engine based on machine learning algorithms that analyzes user behavior to identify intentional and accidental violations of privacy policies, protect against hacking, and prevent unintentional data leaks. Moreover, OctoWatch will help you comply with personal data protection laws.
Complete archive of user actions
The DLP system OctoWatch records every action of the computer user (for example, work time, running programs, open websites, emails, edited and sent files). You can specify which employees need to be monitored and which do not. Employees can be grouped together, and analytics can be provided for departments or individual users.
Detection of confidential data
The system can be configured to detect secret and confidential data (for example, bank card numbers, passports, financial information, blueprints). Files being copied to the cloud, external drives, sent by email, in messengers, screenshots, and clipboard content are analyzed.
Automatic rules
A "feature" of the OctoWatch system is its automation. The program comes with more than 22 pre-installed rules. For instance, OctoWatch can block the sending of an email containing certain keywords, stop the uploading of confidential documents to the cloud, prohibit the use of flash drives, etc.
Data collection for evidence
Records indicating malicious user actions are accompanied by screenshots (and audio recordings if a microphone is available). With the global search function, you can quickly find the information you're interested in. This data can be used as evidence in court or when initiating a case with law enforcement agencies.
