  • Answer six short questions about stance, exceptions, and reporting.
  • Get a Policy-to-Console bridge, an editable policy, an enforcement checklist, and an Ops appendix.
  • Print, copy, or download a Word file—then have counsel review it before you adopt it.

FAQ

Is a USB policy the same as blocking USB ports?

No. A policy tells people what is allowed. Blocking happens in endpoint settings. In OctoWatch that means Computer Profile File Operation Filtering, Settings Profile write bans, and Rules Profile actions.

What is a DeviceID allowlist?

After a removable device has been used on a monitored PC, OctoWatch can show its DeviceID under Files > Removable Media. You can write Rules that allow read-only access for listed DeviceIDs and keep other media restricted.

Is this legal advice?

No. This is a starter template for planning. Have your lawyer and IT/security leads review any policy before you roll it out or collect signatures.

Do I need an email to download the policy?

No. There is no signup. Print, copy, or download Word from the browser. Your answers also save in this browser so you can pick up later.
